Elements of Home

I took a bunch of pictures of random things in our house. I like to find the color and beauty in things that might even seem mundane sometimes.

First, I just want to say, I really like our new home. I love it. God really blessed us a lot with it. I'm super thankful. I'm glad to be here.

Yep...flowers.

I have to be kind of creative when it comes to bookshelves and certain other things.

I really love color.

An interesting detail of our desk/table that Jacob made.

A ruffled, dirty napkin. Mom made these for me because I tend to make napkins dirty, and these are heavy duty and darker colors.

My green monster seems to be doing quite well in its new home.

The elephant in the room.

The bottle of flowers.

Apples and a cool bowl.

A little Vietnamese girl on the window sill.

A note card from a friend.

Jacob's art.

A banana

Everyone around here seems to really like raisin oatmeal cookies. They are pretty good.

Homey, huh?

The house comes with this, and he's what makes home. ❤

Peanut-butter noodles are so amazing. You should try it. For real.

Spaghetti dinner. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

We ain't got a ton, but we got what we need.

My friend handmade this cutting board. It is so smooth.

So, hopefully I didn't bore you too much, but I guess I probably did.

Sun, Sky, Flowers, and Clouds

These are some pictures from before our marriage. I just love all the flowers and beauty.

The clouds were so cool that day.

I love making bouquets with anything I can find. I already found some flowers here to put in our new home. As you can see in the next two pictures...
Yep, I still have an obsession for bottles and flowers.

Anyway, back to the old life.

Ah...what a nice scene.

I like taking pictures of bugs on flowers. Makes it more interesting.

This is the basic idea of the bouquets we had for the wedding. They were wild flowers and such. Just my type. : )

Here it has been rainy and cold lately, so it's nice to see warm, sunny pictures.

Honey Moon

I thought our honey moon in WV was pretty great. Not to be too dramatic, but I think it was my favorite trip yet. It was so peaceful and restful and slow and beautiful.

We went to Seneca Rocks, or the "dorsal fin of the world" as someone says. He also thinks that is the rock that makes the world spin. It was very windy there, so I guess that would make sense.

That's it from below.

And the wind was super cold at the top.

That's the view from the top.

We also found this cool cave beside a highway. I guess they used to mine for something here.

Yep. Good memories.

We got internet...before our third anniversary. : )

Life in Tennessee

Well, I have some pictures to load on to the computer, but I forgot to bring my cord with me. I'm at Jacob's parents' house because we don't have internet yet. This morning Jacob said he would still be trying to get us internet on our 3rd anniversary. I don't think that's true unless we had just moved again at that point. But, I think we'll get it eventually.

Anyway, I've been looking for a job. I have an interview coming up next week for a soap-making company. It should be interesting.

I have been cooking, cleaning, walking, grocery shopping, looking for a job, etc. It is fun. I like my new home a lot, and I really like my husband.

It's cool to me how naturally we seemed to have moved into married life. I guess we were such good friends before we even dated. I guess we were made for each other.

Well, I do have some pictures from life lately, but they're on my phone. Hah! Me and technology. Boy.        Anyway, yep.

See ya soon.

✌✌

I'm Married

Yep.

A long time in coming for sure, but I am finally hitched and very happy.

I live in Tennessee now, which is nice. At least I'm not super far from home, and now I have a new home.

I got me a good man.

A New Home

Last week I started to set up our new home in Tennessee. It's a nice little apartment.
I was sweepin' and moppin' and cleanin' because I'm a regular old Dutch girl, and I like my house to be clean. I moved the green monster in, and I guess we'll see if it's dead by the time we get back. It's a pretty hardy little guy, so I think it will be fine.

Moving is always interesting. I think this move will be pretty great, but I do expect a little bit of missing old places and people.

I look forward to our new home. I guess next week I'll find out what's like to live there...with a new room mate.

Of course, only the best in decorating skills. Not.
However, I do imagine I'll be able to make our little home a bit nicer than the place Jacob used to live.

Would Have Been a Farmer

Maybe I would have been a farmer if a city boy hadn't swept me off my feet, but as it is, I'll just enjoy the farmer's life from the outside.

I tell you what: I really like taking pictures of flowers. These guys are bloomin' on the edge of the field.

Farms are peaceful places.

Yeah, I could see myself put-puttin' along on my tractor. Sounds kinda nice.

Late clover, I guess.

The azaleas doing their fall blooming thing they like to do.

"You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the earth."
Psalm 104:14

Happy Saturday!

Baxter, Bottles, and Baby

 Phone pictures

Old Baxter has served me well.

But, the old fella might have to stay behind this time. I'm sure Lydia will find good uses for him.

I got more bottles.

It's not exactly a bottle, but it's blue, and that's all that matters.

There are some baby doll parts strewn throughout the junk yard. It's a bit creepy, I suppose, but also sort of humorous.
