Thunder Over Louisville

Every year, Louisville hosts an airshow followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Last year we didn't go, but this year we made sure to check it out. It was pretty cool. The kids and I left early and missed the fireworks, but next year I really want to see them because Jacob said they were awesome. I really enjoyed the airplanes though. However, I wish we had sat closer to the main show. Oh, well, now we know better for next time.

Micah slept through some of it.

Some kids were throwing around this inflated disc balloon.

These people had a great view from their apartments.

Taliya enjoying chicken dinner.

♡♡♡

Jacob's brother Josh was there, and he sent this picture of the fireworks.

Lots of fun.

Hemlock Cliffs

A few weeks ago, we went to Hemlock Cliffs in Indiana with our friends Noah and Savanah.

Taliya fell asleep on the way there.

There were some waterfalls.

Taliya fell in.

As the name suggests, there were a lot of cliffs.

Other St. Louis Things

Jacob and I both love wide open places like this. We drove mainly through Indiana and Illinoise, and it was pretty much all open fields.

There were some really neat old buildings. If you look closely, you can see so much detail. It was sad to see so many of these buildings rundown and deserted. It was kind of weird.

Down by the Mississippi River. The wind coming off the river was so cold.

A cool Louis and Clark statue. I think Taliya was afraid of the dog. Haha!

A garden by the arch.

Micah taking a break from that stuffy pouch.

Here's a beautiful deserted theater.

Eating lunch before we went to Union Station, an old train station turned into a hotel and other cool stuff.

A pond at the station.

Kids watching the eclipse. That was a fun addition to our trip.

We didn't get a complete eclipse, but the sky did get darker. You can see the street lights came on. It was hard to capture the darkness in the picture.

Even though it was afternoon, it looked more like evening for a few minutes. Also, the pond blew fire balls out of "lily pads."
