Cherokee Cove Nine and Half Years Ago

As you may know from a post I did last summer, we like to go to Cherokee Cove when we get the chance. I thought it would be fun to show some pictures from our first visit in July of 2007. Weren't we cute!?

On the way to the camp, we stopped at a waterfall. From left to right: Bethany (8), Mom, Gabriel (15), me (10), Lydia (2), Hannah (13), Josiah (19), and Priscilla (12). It's crazy to think that Lydia is now the age Priscilla was in this picture.

The first "cabin" we stayed in.

Eating dinner.

Cute Lydia the next morning.

Can I also say "cute Gabriel"?

Gabriel showing his wood-chopping abilities.

Hannah getting a good laugh.

Hannah, Priscilla, Bethany, me, and our friend, Rachel.

Dad enjoying some sassafras.

Bethany and Mom with some of the camp owners, Libby, Samantha, and John.

The owners, Stuart and Samantha.

Well, I hope you enjoyed some memories of my own.
Good day!

Life Post

It's February 14th and a lot has happened in my life since the last time I posted about life happenings. A friend of mine just posted about her life and asked what's going on in her readers' lives, so I decided to do something similar.

Justus Came
In late January, Priscilla's boyfriend, Justus came for a short visit.
While he was here, we went to the Greensboro museum, and this was one of the room displays.

We went to Duke Chapel and gardens and Justsus and Priscilla climbed this tree.

Priscilla and Justus.

Before the two left for MN, we went to Georgia for the Passion Conference.

Snow!
Yay! We got enough snow to sled down our road .

Gabriel and Emily came!
Gabriel and his girlfriend, Emily, came in January. They got engaged while they were here! (Dad took these three pictures.)
We also saw some other friends, Matthew and Kaley. Here they are with Emily and Gabriel at a Vietnamese restaurant.

WORTH
Near the beginning of this month, I was able to observe another young lady teach a sexual purity class at a church nearby. It was a day and a half for teens, and I really enjoyed getting to know some of the kids and chaperones. Eventually, I would like to teach the course myself. I only got one picture during the whole thing, and it's a bad one.
The girl in the front with the blue shirt is Madison who did the teaching.

Well, I guess that is about it. I hope you enjoyed this. I gotta go to bed.
Good night.

Flowers of February

The last few days have seen a burst of color in our North Carolina woods. I love to see all the blooms and bring in a few flowers for the house to enjoy. I think I'll bring in some more for Valentines Day dinner. We usually have a nice dinner for this holiday, and we may give little gifts. Here are a bunch of flower pictures; I don't know the names of all the flowers, but they are all so pretty.

Do we need any words? No, flowers speak for themselves.

Happy Valentines!!

January's Life

In the last few days of January I began to notice the new life springing up in our nook of the woods. Here in North Carolina, spring can begin astonishingly early (although, I really shouldn't be astonished at this point).

I don't have much to say about the pictures, they are just for your enjoyment.

Good day!
