Siblings

I think Mom took this picture. I love it. It's fun to see little Lydia grow up and be a young woman and great aunt to Quinn and the other ones. I miss both of these girls. I guess that's a part of growing up and a part of leaving and cleaving. Things just won't be the same. Now Jacob and I are starting our own family with new kids. I know we siblings will still be able to see each other here and there, just not as much. I guess it should make me more thankful for the times we are together.

Flowers and Stuff

These are the random pictures that didn't make it into other posts.

One day when I was volunteering this week, the sky was cool and the wind super strong. I decided this was a cool view.

The daffodils are blooming!

I walked a long way one day. I felt accomplished but very tired.

This yard is just flooded with crocuses. I think it's amazing.

Some yellow ones.

Some old pictures of my great-grandparents.

A little phone bag I made because my sweat pants don't have pockets.

Some yards are flooded with these little guys.

🍐

I love pears.

Things With Jacob

These are random things that involve Jacob.

One day, Jacob wasn't needed at work, so we went to downtown Knoxville and played tourists. This is the Tennessee River.

It was pretty cold, but we had fun.

On our way back home, we stopped at the library and looked at books. He was pouring over a football book.

This is me washing clothes in the tub. On one of our little adventures, Jacob and I both got very muddy. I actually fell right into some cold mud and water. Our pants were a sorry sight.

Jacob's shoes were even worse. It took a lot of scrubbing to get all that mud out.

Yesterday, Jacob saw this sweatshirt at the mall while he was working. We've been watching Looney Tunes lately, and I've always been a fan. So, he insisted we get it. Thankfully, it happened to be half off, so that was cool.

Hike

A couple days ago Jacob had a rough time at work: he ate a second breakfast with his boss and then he was done for the day. I suggested we go on a hike, and he was nice enough to agree to that. So, we went a little west to some mountains that way and did an easy hike along a creek with a couple waterfalls. It was nice and refreshing.

There was so much moss and so many rocks all along the way.

A nice bridge gave us a nice rest. We are slow old folk trying to regain our strength.

Neither of the waterfalls were very big, but they did have cool rocks. This second one was especially cool.

You can kind of see how big that rock is.

The waterfall itself was kind of puny but still pretty.

Food

I do not like the creature that keeps tearing up my garden, so I decided to give it a treat: cayenne pepper. Yummy.

Sometimes I eat hotdogs for lunch so Jacob doesn't have to eat them.

This is called biscuit day, the day I make a bunch of biscuits and freeze them for breakfasts.

A tea party

A sweet strawberry dessert bar I made up one time.

I used to think that Ramen noodle soup was not good for you, just a bunch of calories and sodium for little benefit. Technically, I still think that, but after getting sick from the baby, I decided it was a very delicious food.

Have I made you hungry yet? Didn't think so. You're probably gagging.

Yarn

I've been doing a lot of crocheting stuff. It can be fun.

I have been working on this rug for a few years. it is slow progress.

I have several projects going at once. If I get bored of one thing, I can start working on another thing.

The rug has a lot of colors in it.

Dead Flowers and Jewelry

Oh, boy, folks! I just put a bunch of boring pictures onto the computer, and now I have the pleasure of making several posts about them.

This first one is very exciting. Enjoy.

Such elegant feet

Mom gave me this jewelry box for Christmas. She painted it and fixed up nice for me. I've never owned one of these things before.

Yep. What fun.

I Want Kittens

I just woke up from my morning nap.

Hi, I'm Elisabeth. I'm 24 and I take morning naps.

Anyway, during that nap, I had a dream. I was at my parents' house, and the cats were hollering at the door. Lydia said, "Just let them in. They always come in now."

Being the big sister police that I am, I ran to the door and opened it just a crack to NOT let those cats in. However, apparently, Lydia was right. the two adorable little kittens squirmed their way into the house, and I picked them both up and started snuggling them. They were so adorable. More adorable than they actually are. They were so soft and snuggly. Maybe I was snuggling my sheets and blankets. They even talked, which I thought was so cool...until I woke up and thought it was creepy.

Moral of the story: I want kittens! Please, dear.

Nope. Sorry, no kittens for you.

OK, whatever.

Please!

Things Here at Home

I'm thankful for the place I live now. I am thankful to be with my husband. I am thankful for our nice little apartment. I am thankful for our growing baby. I am thankful that spring will come again.

I always want to look for ways to create. I have been working on a garden in the neighborhood woods. It's been fun but lots of work for a pregnant woman.

Looking for the colors.

I love walking in a neighborhood behind ours because it has a good view of the mountains, my mountains. I love seeing that distant blue ridge, even if we don't get to go hiking much.

I love flowers, and I take lots of pictures of them. Here in the south, dandelions bloom all year, but when I see crocuses, I get very excited.

Home for 17 Hours

We had about 17 hours in NC on Saturday and Sunday. It was nice to be home, even for a little bit. We had fun. We played basketball. Jacob and I played against Dad and Lydia. I had no idea what I was doing, but I guess because Jacob did know what he was doing, we won. We ate Mom's lasagna, which is so amazing. We sat around and were lazy, and we played Bohnanza, which is a fun card game.

We stay in the east room, and it's nice seeing the sunrise from bed.

Lazin' around in the living room with a nice warm fire.

I still love those cats a whole lot.

This is a cool thing that happens when it gets cold. Ice pushes up from the ground and forms these hairy icicles.

I guess Lydia thought she would be sly and take some selfies with my phone.

Yep. That was nice.
See ya!
