Right Now

She's playing rather contentedly with that toy, and I'm listening to The Gray Havens, trying to find some new music to enjoy. The clouds are low and cover the sky as they move across the path of the sun. Jacob is sleeping. He worked late this morning and was very tired when he got in bed. I appreciate all the hard work he does for his family. I'm getting hungry, and the little kid is moving around a lot inside me.

Things I Love

On a more possitive note, there are a few things I do love.

Taliya's love for apples.

Chocolate

Taliya's excitement for her new chair.

The cozy smell of pumpkin candle on a rainy morning.

Hot, homemade chai

Fresh-baked bread with butter

Juicy, sweet watermelon from my own garden

Fresh flowers in a basket on the wall

Admiring old houses

Taliya's cuteness

Jacob rough housing with his little girl.

Jacob's hugs
Jacob's laugh
Jacob working hard for his family
Taliya's hugs and kisses
Free laundry
A new baby coming

And lots of other things.....

I Hate Doctors

Everyone says that, but why wouldn't we? It's awful.

This morning I had my first appointment since being pregnant this time. I hated it. I was dreading it, and it was at least as bad as I figured it would be. First, they seemed mad that I came "so late" in the pregnancy. It's my life and my baby; what do you care?! Then they started talking about all the stuff they have to do to "play catch-up." 🙄 They said a bunch of hospital jargon, and the way they spoke to me sounded like they were reading a book. Just reading stuff they have to say. I looked into the eyes of heartless, money-loving women who are "just doing their job." Then I didn't even get my ultrasound which is what I had made the appointment for in the first place, and they ended up taking my blood instead. That was a TERRIBLE experience. I don't do well with that stuff, and I almost passed out.

The only nice thing they did for me was give me the names of two home delivery midwives. Hah! I guess they could tell I was a nutcase.

Anyway, I'm feeling a little down this morning. But, it helped to come home and see Jacob sitting up on the balcony waiting for me. Seeing that man always cheers me up.

This has nothing to do with anything, except that Jacob is funny and makes me laugh. A couple weekends ago, he went to Nashville to watch an NFL game with his brother. He didn't want to empty his school backpack, so he found this old diaper box and used it as his suitcase. Haha!

Girl With an Apple

Taliya loves apples. I was giving her pieces of apple that I thought were small enough and would keep her from choking, but it seemed like every time she ate apple, she sure would choke. One time she got her hands on a whole apple and chomped into it. I realized that whenever she ate it straight off the core, she didn't choke. So, now I just give her an apple, and she's good at eating them.

Our New Home

We've been in our new home for over a week now. It's a nice apartment. There are things I miss about having a house, but mainly we are just very possitive about our new situation. Here are some pictures of the different rooms.

First, we have a million pictures of the living room. I like it, especially the fact that it has a balcony.

This is really just a cute picture of Taliya.

We got some lamps to light up the apartment because there are very few ceiling lights. Very strange, if you ask me.

My baby bump

Then we have one picture of the kitchen. I like the kitchen. It has a lot of storage space so I don't have to put stuff all over the place like I did at the house.

The "dining room" is just a part of the living room. It's weird that's it carpetted.

Taliya's room is always messy.

Our room

Taliya being very cute again.

Our room also leads to the balcony. So luxerious.

Hanging the art on the walls makes it feel more like home.

The Balcony
I love this man.

A romantic picture of our feet.

I love having a balcony. What luxery!

Overall, we really like the new place and like living on campus.

Last year around this time, Taliya was a little tiny baby who slept on the couch a lot.

More Pictures of My Daily Life

Taliya just casually looking very cool.

She likes to lay down randomly, and I think it's cute.

Tea and chocolate, yum-yum-yum.

Tasty buns

My zinnias have gone crazy, and I love it.

Last days at the house.
