Nature Pictures

This is from my family's house. I went back home for a few days in May. I love those woods.

Jacob and I went on a train ride on Memorial day. It was so fun. We both really like trains.

This was a river by the train.

I think power lines are cool, and this was a cool shot because of the blue sky, the clouds, and all those wires.

I love storm clouds. They're so dramatic.

The Queen Ann's Lace sure looked pretty all together like that.

A Bunch of Stuff

This is a painting I did for Mom for Mother's Day.

This is a pretty neighborhood cat.

I made this for Jacob's Birthday.

Sadie, me, and Sarah: the 3 pregnant women on Jacob's side of the family. Sadie has since given birth to a girl. We're all having girls.

I think this was Mother's Day.

This is a little table Jacob is making for Taliya.

Part of my garden in the woods.

A funny, feathery flower.

I wonder what Taliya will look like. That was me when I was a baby with Jesse.

That's one of my favorite cats, Miko. I went home for a few days in May.

I make messes.

Thank you cards.

I'm such a kid. I was having fun dressing up my doll in baby clothes.

Gabriel and Emily had their baby girl in May. That's Addison and Salem. I don't know who took the picture.

I've been saving blackberries for a cobbler.

So Much Greenness

I realize these pictures are pretty boring. They are from different times when I was in our woods. I really am so thankful for those woods. I love all the green. It's like a jungle in there.

The Parthenon

One day Jacob decided we were going to Nashville for the night. We got a nice hotel and had a lazy night and morning. Then we went to this place called the Parthenon. They built it in 1897 for Tennessee's 100th anniversary of being a state. It's huge and really cool. We also went to "The Strip," which is a street with a bunch of restaurants and little shops and live music. It was loud and crowded. We went to the river, too. It was a nice day.

It is pretty big.

Honestly, I didn't like this statue of Athena. She was very ugly. It was cool how big it was though. The little guy in her hand is over 6 feet tall.

That's it for now.

Not an Author

Ever since I was quite young, I have thought I wanted to be an author. I wanted to write books with stories and poems and maybe even be famous. I still have plenty to write about, but I think maybe I won't be an author.

The thing is that there are so many new, young Christian authors out there, all trying to get their books published. It seems like its actually not all that difficult to get published these days. Of course, there's a lot of self-publishing. So, what I'm saying is that there's too much already out there. What will be different about my book? Exactly, it'll just be another Christian girl book.

I guess I've decided that unless I feel a strong call to write or some specific topic to write on, I don't think I can say much that isn't already being said by countless others.

Who knows? Maybe some day I'll write my husband's biography, but for now, I don't mind just being an unknown blogger, journalist, and letter writer.

Yep. Powerful words, huh?
