La Mulți Ani

La Multi Ani* to my brother, Jesse, brother-in-law, John, and sister, Bethany. I am so thankful for all of them and the blessing they each are to me. Life would not be nearly as adventuresome, encouraging, and, yes, even crazy without these three people in my life. God bless you all!
I love you!
Elisabeth

*"La mulți ani" means "Happy Birthday" in Romanian, if you didn't catch that already.

Part 2: A Wonderful Day: A Walk

Later in the day, Dad, Mom, and us three girls went for a walk along the country roads around us.

A farm pond.

We ventured down this driveway, hoping there would be something more interesting.

Lydia was not as brave to go all the way up.

More lichen.

The swaying tree is holding up a tree that fell on it.

Two oaks.

Fern-like moss.

Part 1: A Wonderful Day: Tiny Things

Today while the others girls and Mom enjoyed a scroll through Facebook, I went out for a walk in the brisk, clear November day. The temperature was about 56 degrees, the ground warm enough to forget the shoes. I took the camera and was off to picture the day.
This part 1 is almost completely dedicated to close-ups of moss and other little plants. I am taking Biology this year and the authors have made one particular point very clear, "There is no such thing as a simple life form." Even single-celled organisms are extremely complex, I suppose so because the cell itself is so intricate. God is an amazing Creator and master Designer.
1
First, is a blooming miniature rose.

2
Some very green moss with a little weed coming out of it.

This is a little moss garden I have in the woods.

Remember this tree from a couple of posts ago?

More moss.

The crystal clear reflection of the the trees in our "Leakey Spring."

Lichen and moss on a decaying log.

Now maybe you've seen enough moss...

Here's a squirrel I saw on my adventure.

While the Nations Rage

Rich Mullins is one of my favourite Christian singers. He died in a car accident in the 1990's, but his music is still available today. I especially like this song and I think it is very appropriate for the troubles going on in the world now. I hope you enjoy.

"While the Nations Rage"
"Why do the nations rage
Why do they plot and scheme
Their bullets can't stop the prayers we pray
In the name of the Prince of Peace
We walk in faith and remember long ago
How they killed Him and then how on the third day He arose
Well things may look bad
And things may look grim
But all these things must pass except the things that are of Him
Where are the nails that pierced His hands
Well the nails have turned to rust
But behold the Man
He is risen
And He reigns
In the hearts of the children
Rising up in His name
Where are the thorns that drew His blood
Well the thorns have turned to dust
But not so the love
He has given
No it remains
In the hearts of the children
Who will love while the nations rage
The Lord in Heaven laughs
He knows what is to come
While all the chiefs of state plan their big attacks
Against His anointed One
The Church of God she will not bend her knees
To the gods of this world though they promise her peace
She stands her ground
Stands firm on the Rock
Watch their walls tumble down when she lives out His love
Where are the nails that pierced His hands
Well the nails have turned to rust
But not so the Man
He is risen
And He reigns
In the hearts of the children
Rising up in His name
Where are the thorns that drew His blood
Well the thorns have turned to dust
But behold the love
He has given
It remains
In the hearts of the children
Who will love while the nations rage
While the nations rage
Well where are the nails that pierced His hands
Well the nails have turned to rust
But behold the Man
He is risen
And He reigns
In the hearts of the children
Rising up in His name
Where are the thorns that drew His blood
Well the thorns have turned to dust
But not so the love
He has given
Oh it remains
In the hearts of the children
Who will love while the nations rage"

Bubbles,Sun, and Roof-top Fun

Here are some of the little things I've enjoyed lately.

Several weeks ago, my sister Lydia and I were distracted from our school by the simple delight of-- yes, bubbles.

After over a week of almost (we had one sunny day in the middle of it) constant rain or at least clouds here in North Carolina, I was joyful to look up from my literature book and see this.
2

Today, Dad cleaned out the chimney and the gutters, so of course, I went up to the top of the house too. The sun made the shingles feel so warm.

Bethany climbs the ladder...

Gets to the top...

And takes a sunbathe.

The distant hills.

Good day and God bless!

Autumn

I think I've come to the conclusion that the last week of October is the prettiest time of autumn in North Carolina. A few weeks ago I went for a walk and took just a "few" pictures. As we enjoy God's beauty in His creation, I hope we draw closer to him and give honour to Him.

Romania

About 4 or 5 years ago, I began to be more interested in the country of Romania. I have a desire to be a missionary but where and when, I don't know. This is a little about the country of Romania:
Romania is a southeastern European country bordering Ukraine to the north, Moldova to the east, Hungary and Serbia/Montenegro to the west, and Bulgaria to the south. The east also boarders 143 miles of the Black Sea. Besides native Romanians, there are Hungarian, Roma, Ukrainian, German, Russian, and Turkish in Romania. Religions include Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, Catholic, and Muslim.
The Romanians respect older people and view the father as the head of the family. They are private people and like humility.
The nation was Communist from 1947 to the revolution of 1989. Though the government is better, the country still reaps the problems of Communism. Prayer points include:
(1)Orphans
(2)"Christian" youth really having a personal relationship with Christ
(3)The political leaders
You can find these and other prayer requests at

God bless and good Sunday!

"Sunrise, Sunset"

I love the sunsets and rises at the beach, so I thought I would do a post with some pictures I've taken at the beach this year. Some are from May and June when I was in New Jersey with my sister Hannah, helping take care of my Great-grandmother. Some are taken more recently when our family went up to NJ to just be with relatives. I hope you enjoy.
These two are the sunset at the bay.

STOP! Watch the sunset.
Same night as the previous.

These three are of the sunrise.

I think this is a sunrise, but it's hard to tell.

Priscilla took these sunrise pictures.

Priscilla also took this sunset picture, from the roof top.

Sunrise from October.

These are all the same sunset.

This is the sunrise of the morning we left.

I hope I haven't bored you, that was a lot. When I see these pictures, I am reminded of God's magnificence. He surely is a God of order and beauty.
Good Sunday!
Elisabeth
