Little Stories

We have an old tradition among us girls that dates back to several years ago. We sit at the kitchen bar with some kind of drink and look at books and take pictures of us doing that. Usually the books are big. There have been a huge variety of books represented during one of these times, from science books to car books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, poetry books, commentaries, etc. We try to act dramatic or like we're really into our book. Fact is that we usually do end up getting quite interested in whatever we're "reading."

One day I came home from a trip to TN, and guess what I saw? Yep, a wind pump organ! I had known about the possibility of Lydia acquiring a free one before I left, but I had sort of forgotten about it. I have a real fascination for these things, so I was quite overjoyed to find this beauty sitting in our old school room (it's more like a music room now).

That is hot tea with cream of some sort, a bit of chocolate, and a leaf. The leaf has nothing to do with anything, but the tea and chocolate have everything to do with everything. Did you know that dipping dark chocolate into hot tea and then licking off the melted part is so delicious? Well, now you know. I took that particular mug outside one afternoon and enjoyed the relics on the stupe. Lydia joined me, and we had a relaxed moment out there.

Art. That's kind of the goal of my photography lately. I just don't carry my camera around much these days, so when I want to take a picture, I'm looking for something in particular. I saw this leaf dangling in the sunshine and decided to capture it in a way that made it really stand out. The blackness is just the dark foliage and trees behind it that didn't have sun.

In January or something, I got me a smartphone for the first time ever. That's the BLU phone on the right. Well, the plan and phone itself hasn't been great, but I deal with it. Anyway, a very nice person decided I needed an iPhone. It's a super nice phone. I never dreamed of having such a nice phone. The camera is super great, too. Well, now I have three phones. That's awesome.

This is a shot I took with the iPhone of a bee on a mimosa blossom. The picture doesn't look as good here as it does on the phone. Oh, well. Anyway, I love mimosa trees. They have such cool flowers, which smell so good. They are blooming everywhere right now, and they are so exotic.

Well, that's all I got for today.
