Adventures in Duluth

Some of us made the daring climb up a gated and locked tower.

The view from the top looking out toward Lake Superior.

Lake Superior always blows up very cold wind.

What started as dipping our toes in the freezing water...

...ended with Jacob and Andrew daring each other to crazier stuff, including dunking their entire heads in. Haha! Thankfully they didn't continue to a polar plundge or anything.

The gray clouds gave way to this beautiful blue that reflects so perfectly in the water.

What a fun but cold day!

Adventures in Minnesota

Giant lego sets at the Mall of America.

It's a terrible picture, but Jacob and his brother and sister-in-law rode on this rollercoaster. Apparently it was a real humdinger. I went on a less exciting one, but it was enough for me.

I didn't know the Mall of America was so big until we went again.

Our kids were surprisingly into the chickens.

I took a ride on the metro train. It was interesting experience to say the least. At one stop, the police kicked some people off the train.

Adventures With Faith

For spring break, we drove all the way up to Minnesota where Jacob's brother Andrew and my sister Priscilla live with their families. A couple nights before we left, Jacob met up in Nashville to pick up his younger sister Faith. We ended up having a mostly rainy day doing random stuff with her before we all left for MN.

A train stopped on the tracks for some reason, so we had to take pictures.

Jacob was able to grab ahold of the train.

It was topped two high most of the train.

After a rough afternoon of not getting a rental car we were supposed to get, we had dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

Clearly, Taliya was enjoying herself.

We all were. : )

This was on our voyage north.

Stayed tuned for the rest of the story......

A Little Nature Walk

One evening, I took a walk around the meadow and took some artsy nature pictures. It was fun.

These flowers smell so sweet.

I love this tree on the hill. It looks like it is out on a prairie.

Even the dead grass looks picturesque to me.

Then I found large rocks in the hillside with moss on them.

And some little bitty flowers.

I was trying to make this picture look like it was a much bigger landscape. I'm not sure it worked out like that, but it still looks neat.

Early March

I don't know what happened to me, but it looks like I disappeared for a little while there. Nothing crazy is happening, sometimes I just don't feel like blogging I guess. In the first half of March, we had some really nice weather. Then we left for the frozen north for spring break. These are pictures from before our trip.

Enjoy.

I love daffodils.

Sunshine is the best medicine, especially after such a cold, snowy winter.

I saw this little tea set in a consignment store and thought it was the cutest thing.

One of the really warm days. Sometimes I take Micah's shirt off to keep him cooler.

The kids love this little camping chair.

Maple buds

Playing in the dirt.

I've done a little art recently. I drew this bird for an interesting decoration.

I cut it out and stuck it in this fake bird cage. I also stuck a real stick in it to add to the realism.

I also drew this bird as a gift.
