Being a mom is very tiring sometimes, so Jacob tries to give me little breaks whenever is possible. One Sunday afternoon, he let me go off for a few hours alone. I decided the creek would be the best place to feel refreshed.
It was a warm October day. I even contemplated jumping in, but the water was too cold for my liking.
At this point, I've walked this path so many times. I love this view. It's simple and nothing amazing, but for a country girl who craves the woods, I love it.
The late afternoon sun falling behind the distant trees, the green-golden leaves, and the small patch of glistening water are such a peaceful sight.
This is the part of the creek where Jacob and I always make dams. It was a little weird being the only one there, but I still got busy with building a new dam.
It was quite a successful dam, with the water rushing to the middle opening and over the edges.
I took a silly little selfie to record that I was all alone.
I say this every time, but there is really nothing like an afternoon at the creek.
